BCBS auths - how to register and more info

In reference to authorizations coming up (there's been conflicting ideas when they will actually start requiring these auths), I thought I would pass along information

IF you are NOT in network with BCBS, you can not register. 

Billers can register a username for all the tax ids they work - similar to availity and medicaid. As a biller I was asked to call AIM and confirm myself as a billing company, and the customer service rep was very helpful setting up the tax ids I bill for. 

Registering is very quick - doesn't take long. AIM will send you a confirmation email that states they received your inquiry. Make sure when registering you save a copy of your security questions and username/password your create. You will need this info if you call them.

Any tax ids can be added to your username account by going to the icon Manage your physicians list, then manage group list on the bottom right, then select the insurance company on the next page. Anthem BCBSGA will be the company you select, then enter the tax id (without dashes). 

Customer service rep at AIM reminded me don't hit the back button your internet browser while working in this system, it will create an error. 

At this time, I do not know what is required documentation for authorizations for BCBS. Usually, with commercial insurance, it's not as picky as medicaid or cmos. Usually they request a poc, test scores and if the pt has an iep or ifsp that's a bonus extra to send. I'm crossing my fingers on this one that it's that easy.
